“The Other Sides to War” Earthenware fired to cone 3 in a charcoal reduced atmosphere.

2023
In the Summer of 2023 I was able to visit my home country of Ukraine. Entering through the polish border, I traveled by train in a straight line heading east across the whole country visiting friends, family and a group of artists. Taking images and interviews with my camera we talked life, war, and victory.
The etchings on this four piece wall sculpture are taken directly from images I took on my journey.
Im interested in capturing those stories and moments in this war that are not at the top of the news headlines. The civilians who endure, who contribute with their hands by making anti tank obstacles out of scrap steel. The creative community who crowdfund for drones, and the family members who are separated from loved ones.
