Clay painting, etched drawing of my childhood home. A building I grew up in. Overlapping textures and marks that are made using a water erosion technique while the piece was still unfired. These marks assimilate those of shrapnel scars, craters, and destruction caused my artillery and missiles. My building is luckily still standing, but to imagine it not is something my mind doesn’t want to accept or comprehend. I know that this is the reality of so many.
